Deborah Schildkraut
Director of Communications
Debbie has had an exciting career in marketing for over 30 years and began her career in the world of advertising agencies in New York City. It was her success in developing and implementing award-winning channel marketing programs that brought her to IBM where she held a variety of global marketing roles. She has led partnership initiatives with the Olympics, Disney, and a variety of strategic Business Partners.
Debbie was always told by family that she sang before she talked. Her love and passion for music led her to study piano, violin, flute, and voice, while self-learning percussion and conducting. In high school, she was a drum major, student conductor, and performed in concert choir, chamber choir, marching band, orchestra, and school musicals. After singing in Bergen County Choir and All State Chorus, she was invited to sing and student conduct with the Sound of America Honor Chorus on a tour to Europe the summer before starting college.
Debbie double-majored in Music and Business Administration/Marketing at the State University of New York at Albany in Music where she was musical director of productions of Fiddler on the Roof and Damn Yankees, and commencement speaker. Keeping music in her life, post-college she performed with the Pro Arte Chorale, Ars Musica Chorale, an acapella group called “Rhythm and Shoes,” and in several local cabarets, plus she taught Music Together to preschoolers.
Equally passionate about community service, she has held numerous volunteer leadership roles over the years including JP Stevens High School Band Parents Association President for 3 years, Past President of the Middlesex County STEM Academy Foundation, among many other roles. She joined Rise Up Chorus in Spring 2023 and performed in the recent "Voices of New Jersey" trip to Spain.
